Younger Class Schedule
In the younger children’s classroom, children ages 2.9-4 may enroll for 2 or 3 days with a maximum of 11 children. Children need not be potty trained to attend.
The school day is from 8:30am – 12:30pm. (See “Daily Routine” below for more details, and “A Day In The Life”
Older Class Schedule
In the older children’s classroom, a maximum of 13 children ages 4-6 may enroll for 3, 4 or 5 days. Special accommodations may be made for siblings attending different programs on the same days.
The school day is from 8:30am – 12:30pm.
8:30 – Children Arrive
Children put lunchboxes in basket, toilet and wash hands, greet friends and teachers, and explore the classrooms to make plans for free choice time.
8:45 – Morning Greeting
Children and teachers gather to say hello, talk about the day, share any important information, and read a story.
9:15 – Free Play/Activity Time
All interest areas in the room are open. Choices include: dramatic play, rice and water tables, block building (large and small), easel painting, play dough, books, puzzles, small manipulatives, supervised art activity, cooking, science activity, and fitness.
10:00 – Clean-up, Toileting, and Washing Hands
10:15 – Snack Time
Small snack including two of the following: fruit, crackers, muffins, water, milk, juice, or that morning’s cooking project.
10:45 – Music Time
Songs, finger plays, music with instruments, yoga, movement, and drama
11:00 – Outdoor Play
11:50 – Toileting, Washing-up for lunch
12:00 – Lunch Time
Nutritious lunch brought from home.
12:20 – Group Activity Time
Small or large group activity (4-6 children with 1 teacher) such as: cognitive perceptual games (Lively Letters, Lotto, Concentration, Sequencing Cards, Parquetry, etc).
12:30 – Dismissal
Class gathers to sing “The Goodbye Song” then children are dismissed to go home
